July

7/5 -- Men’s Prayer Breakfast on the deck at Mark & Kim's --8 a.m.

VBS July 21-25

This year the theme is POWER LAB: Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power. We need workers. If you would like to help, see Phyllis, Ginetta or Rick or there’s a sign up sheet on the foyer table. Also, please start saving 12 - 16 oz water bottles with the caps and the Michael’s coupons from the Sunday paper. Bring these to Sandy.

7/20 -- Faith Night at Applebee’s Park: Events will include a Lexington Legends game starting at 4:05, a concert by Mark Schultz, and plenty of family fun, music and worship. Sign up sheet is on the foyer table.

August

8/13 and 14 -- SAVE THE DATE!! These will be picture taking days for our new pictorial directory. Please save the date!

VBS NEEDS:

We’d like to borrow (or you may donate) the following items:

· Bicycle horns (5)

· Bowling balls; (2) one 8 lbs or less, the other 13 lbs or more

· C.D.s (Old ones that you don’t want anymore)

· Cardboard tubes (like empty wrapping paper end rolls or other larger size tubes)

· Clear packing tape--Several rolls

· Corn starch--(24) one pound boxes

· Fiber optic lights

· Glass beakers or jars that look “scientific”

· Hula hoops

· Lab coats, any sizes

· Lava Lamps

· Microscope (for display ONLY)

· Neon material or ribbon

· Plasma balls

· Plastic ferns and plants

· Rope lights, white and colors

· Shallow plastic containers, (2) like you use to store things under a bed

· Snorkel gear

· Swimming pool noodles

Summer Cookouts
We have one swim party/cookout scheduled at Mark and Kim’s home on July 13th and another at the Blackburn’s on August 3rd. Please see Gail if you’d like to host a cookout this summer.

Anyone who plays an instrument who would be interested in playing during worship, please see Barb. You don't have to read music and you don't have to be fabulous.
